Sedgemoor District Council commissioned a series of training sessions designed to support independent retailers.
We created the “BIRTSProject” specifically to meet their needs. Designing training and support around the topics that Bridgwater Independent Retailers identified as most useful. All delivered locally, at times that gave retailers the ultimate flexibility they needed to learn alongside running a retail business.
Our bespoke training features a mixture of face to face learning workshops, hands on “how to” sessions, 121 support sessions, e-learning modules which build on the learning from the workshop topics, supporting learning materials and reading suggestions to encourage and reinforce independent learning.
The learning topics were decided following research amongst retailers, of the challenges they were facing and understanding what interventions would be most useful. Topic included; using social media for your business, getting ready for GDPR, creating and managing an effective website, reaching your customers and increasing your sales using online marketing.
During the training we have continued to listen to our participants and future workshops are defined by the needs they identify as we work together over the four year life of the project.
Our participants have said “Interesting, relevant and enjoyable, a concise friendly programme suitable for a mixed ability group. Food for thought, thank you” Wilkins Jewellers
“Thank you both for a brilliant insight. I feel more confident. You made it understandable instead of complex jargon” Christelos Art Boutique
